     It is with great pride and honor that Bridgeport Public Schools' Bilingual & World Languages Department presents our First English Learner Summit. Our hope is that after you attend our Summit, you will be empowered and confident with the information and knowledge to meet the needs of all English Learners. Bridgeport has approximately 3,100 English Learners and we have had the good fortune of hiring staff with the highest credentials and expertise. Our bilingual staff are top notch and their instructional successes are noteworthy. The Summit will be led by Bridgeport ESL and Bilingual teachers who have the experience and passion to share best practices.

     I look forward to meeting all of you at this empowering event. We hope to establish a network of teachers dedicated to improving teaching and learning for all English Language Learners.
